MINDFULNESS AT KEW GARDENS
6-week course amid the beauty of the Gardens
Tap into your own inner resources
Tue, 11 Sept 2018 – Tue, 16 Oct 2018 @ 14.00 – 16.30
Come on this six week course that runs for the second time this year, amid the beauty of Kew Gardens, and learn mindful practices in a supportive and enjoyable outdoor setting.
Who is the course for?
This Mindfulness for Stress course is for anyone dealing with stress of any kind, whether associated with work, relationships, finances, loss or other factors outside your control. On this course you will learn mindfulness strategies and approaches within a supportive and friendly group setting.
How will mindfulness help me?
Mindfulness is now recognised as a useful life skill to improve focus and clarity, listening and decision-making skills and perhaps most importantly, overall wellbeing. Practicing mindfulness can help to completely shift how we experience life. It can change how we notice and respond to day-to-day challenges as well as appreciate the good things that happen.
Having thought about doing a mindfulness course for a while, I was attracted to doing this programme partly because I trusted Kew Gardens to select its course leader carefully; partly because I felt studying mindfulness outdoors would add something to the experience, especially in such a stunning location (I already knew Kew Gardens very well).
I was not disappointed. It is the perfect setting for a course of this nature, helping one reflect, learn and escape the pressures of London living for an afternoon. Having the glorious Nash Conservatory to shelter in also made it very special. It was good to be able to warm up and shelter from the elements sometimes! – Liz, course participant in 2017
We will be practicing mindfulness as much in the Gardens as possible because being in nature and surrounded by beauty has a beneficial effect on our physical, emotional and psychological wellbeing. On rainy and windy days we can find shelter in the beautiful Nash Conservatory.
